Cork City Sports Day
Congratulations to all the boys and girls from Kilmeen N.S. who travelled to CIT on Thursday last June 1st to represent their school in Cork City Sports. 31 Kilmeen pupils participated on the day and each and every one of them did themselves and our school proud. Despite wet and slippery conditions we secured five 1sts , three 2nds, and one 3rd in the straight races with 5 of our pupils making it to the County Quarter Finals. From that 2 of our pupils progressed to the County Final and raced exceptionally well against very tough competition.
Our 4 relay teams both boys and girls all finished in the top three so all 8 relay members received their well earned trophies. We were honoured to be awarded the cup for the “Best Overall School” in our section. The girls also received a cup for the most 1st place finishers and both the boys and girls received a plaque /cup for their relay teams. A special thanks to all the parents who travelled to CIT and for their help and support on the day.
